About Us


The primary goal of Americans United is to
educate the American public regarding the importance
of religious liberty through the separation of church and state.
 

 

To achieve this important goal, the San Antonio Chapter of  Americans United for Separation of Church and State vigorously pursues the following objectives.

 
           
   

Nurture long-term relationships with the local media sources.  Work hard to have the chapter become a reliable source of church/state expertise.

   
           
   

 

Maintain a Speakers Bureau that actively works to develop effective speaking topics, train speakers, establish local and regional speaking engagements and provide speakers with pertinent resources.

   
           
   

Educate local and regional legislative members through mailings, telephone conversations and/or meetings to discuss or present important church/state issues.

   
           
   

 

Sustain Community Networking by getting involved with other organizations or activities that have an affinity to the goals and purposes of Americans United.  Publicize the San Antonio chapter and chapter events.

   
           
   

 

Increase membership and meeting participation by offering excellent guest speakers at general meetings, offering special events and a membership wide dedication to acquiring new members.

   
           
   

Expand outreach and education of faith based groups to include the formation of clergy networks and mobilizing communities of faith.

   
           
   

Broaden and enhance email functionality and web site resources and appeal in order to increase site interest and encourage new membership.

   
           
 

Individuals who become members of the San Antonio Chapter of Americans United join with thousands of people throughout this country who view religious liberty as the founding principle upon which our democracy rests!  A single voice is multiplied as Americans United works on the important issue of Separation of Church and State.  Members of the San Antonio Chapter receives a subscription to Church & State magazine, access to a national and grassroots network of church/state activists and the ability to have their voices heard in the national struggle for religious Freedom.
